The FIRJAN System continuously monitors the evolution of the Brazilian economy, especially events in the State of Rio de Janeiro.
The Study and Research Management area, through its the Management of Economic Studies, is responsible for preparing surveys and technical opinions of interest to industry in the state and a wider national audience. The purpose of these efforts is to promote social and economic development in state of Rio de Janeiro and its municipalities.
The surveys carried out among the industries facilitate a close and consistent monitoring of the situation of this important sector responsible for generating half the total GDP in the State. The consolidation and analyses of secondary data is also a source for monthly publications focusing on the national and Rio-based economic situation and regional socio-economic indicators

IFDM: The FIRJAN Municipal Development Index (IFDM) closely follows the annual social and economic development of municipalities, reporting on employment and income, education and health issues.
